Crianlarich Primary School

Crianlarich Primary School serves the village and the wider communities of Tyndrum and Bridge of Orchy. Throughout Stories of the Land, former pupils have shared memories that highlight the important part the school has played in their lives and the local community.

We also wanted to discover how today’s pupils feel about the land around them and what it means to grow up in Strathfillan. We joined the school on one of its regular outings to a nearby mountain viewpoint, where the children sketched the landscape in their jotters. Principal Teacher Hannah Findlay spoke about the school’s approach to learning, while pupils shared their experiences of living in the area.

Watch the short film from our visit below, then explore a selection of artwork the children created afterwards.

Growing Things: The Poly Tunnel

Here is a new addition to Crianlarich Primary School in 2026. The school's poly tunnel, brought to life with funding and support from Tesco and the Crianlarich Parent Partnership, has opened up a new kind of learning space where pupils can grow food, get their hands in the soil and connect what they learn in the classroom to the natural world around them.

Crianlarich Primary School: Art Project

Here are some of the art pieces created by pupils of Crianlarich Primary School, some of which were inspired by the field trip shown in the video above, and others following the visit of local artist Innes MacLellan to the school. Innes is also one of our Stories of the Land contributors. Click on any of the pictures to make them bigger.
